Work with sales and purchase orders
Use orders to track agreed quantities before fulfillment and invoicing.
Menus and actions depend on your company's settings and your access. If something is missing, ask your company administrator.
Before you begin #
Have the customer/supplier and item master data ready. An order and an invoice have different business effects.
Step by step #
- Select Sales Order or Purchase Order in the available voucher entry point.
- Choose the party and date, then enter items, quantity and agreed rates.
- Review ingredients or additional forms where applicable.
- Save and reopen the order.
- Use eligible saved-record actions for the next document or production workflow.
- Check remaining quantities before creating another fulfillment document.
Understand the fields #
- Ordered quantity: quantity agreed with the party.
- Remaining quantity: quantity still eligible in a particular conversion workflow.
- Source document: preserves the relationship between order and subsequent work.
Check the result #
Verify the source reference on the next document. Avoid creating unrelated duplicate orders just to continue a workflow.
If something goes wrong #
Unavailable conversions can be caused by permissions, status or previously used quantities. Ask your administrator before bypassing the intended process.
On mobile #
Open the same module from the app menu. Use the record card or its actions menu. Scroll through the form before saving so that required fields and validation messages are not missed. Your permissions still apply.
