Create, pack and confirm a packing list

Create a manual packing list or use an eligible source, then allocate its items into packages.

Menus and actions depend on your company's settings and your access. If something is missing, ask your company administrator.

Before you begin #

Prepare customer, godown, variants and units. Source-based creation requires an eligible document and access to it.

Step by step #

  1. Open Packing Lists and use Add.
  2. Choose Manual to work without a source, or choose the available Voucher/Work Order source mode.
  3. Enter customer, godown, packing date, item quantities and required batch/serial data.
  4. Save Packing Details and Items; continue in Edit Packages.
  5. Use Add package. Select package type and enter number, dimensions and weights as needed.
  6. Allocate item quantities to packages and save.
  7. Review the saved list, then Confirm when ready. Use Print/View for the permitted output.

Understand the fields #

  • Edit: changes an editable draft’s details/items.
  • Edit Packages: changes package information and item allocations.
  • Package type: choices managed by your company, such as carton or bundle.
  • Quantity: formatted according to its unit.
  • Confirm: applies the packing workflow; available-stock validation depends on the company setting, but package/serial checks still apply.

Check the result #

Check item totals against package allocations. Draft saving does not itself reserve stock. Review status after confirmation.

If something goes wrong #

If items cannot be changed, remove package allocations first where the workflow permits. For insufficient stock, verify variant/godown/batch and ask the administrator about the configured stock-check policy. Do not disable it merely to hide an unexplained shortage.

On mobile #

Open the same module from the app menu. Use the record card or its actions menu. Scroll through the form before saving so that required fields and validation messages are not missed. Your permissions still apply.
