Trace stock in the Stock Ledger
Investigate inventory movements and differences in available stock.
Menus and actions depend on your company's settings and your access. If something is missing, ask your company administrator.
Before you begin #
Know the variant, date range and godown you want to investigate.
Step by step #
- Open Stock Ledger.
- Apply the available variant, godown and date filters.
- Review the movement rows and their document references.
- Use Entry Details to inspect an entry.
- Compare quantities with the source document and the current inventory context.
Understand the fields #
- Inward/outward movement: quantity entering or leaving the scoped stock.
- Reference: document that caused the movement.
- Available stock: can differ from a broad stock balance when reservations or location-specific checks apply.
Check the result #
Use matching filters when comparing the ledger, POS and a packing list.
If something goes wrong #
Do not compare a company-wide amount with a different godown/batch warning. Inspect reservations and source status before changing quantities.
On mobile #
Open the same module from the app menu. Use the record card or its actions menu. Scroll through the form before saving so that required fields and validation messages are not missed. Your permissions still apply.
