Add users and maintain customer/supplier details
Maintain identities and business details used in assignments and party selectors.
Menus and actions depend on your company's settings and your access. If something is missing, ask your company administrator.
Before you begin #
Have permission to manage users. Determine the correct role and whether the person needs login access.
Step by step #
- Open Users and choose Add or Edit.
- Select the appropriate role and fill the fields it exposes.
- Enter contact, business and location details accurately.
- Set assignments and permitted login options where available.
- Complete required custom fields and save.
- Reopen the user and verify lookup display in the intended workflow.
Understand the fields #
- Role: affects fields, permissions and visibility.
- Allow Login: web/app availability is still subject to role/platform permission.
- Business/contact details: used to identify the correct party.
- Assignments: can affect which users a restricted account sees.
Check the result #
Check role and contact details; do not grant broad permissions just to make a picker work.
If something goes wrong #
If a user is missing from a selector, check active context, filters and assignment rules. Ledger/party availability and permission to view another user’s records are separate concerns.
On mobile #
Open the same module from the app menu. Use the record card or its actions menu. Scroll through the form before saving so that required fields and validation messages are not missed. Your permissions still apply.
